Draft: L.A. at Pure Cycles a Must this Thursday

This might be my biggest waste of a column to date.

If you don’t already get that the People for Bikes Draft: L.A. event hosted by Pure Cycles is the place to be, I don’t know what to do to help you.

Instead, you should be reading articles like:

  • One big reason why not to stick your finger in an electrical socket.
  • Inbreeding: not a good idea.
  • The chronology behind expiration dates.
  • Places where toes don’t belong.

In other words, it should be obvious why you should be there.

First of all, there are so many cool people involved with cycling, it’s like being at a CicLAvia in that you’re not going to be able to talk to everybody because there’s too many people there!

SoCalCross’ Dorothy Wong speaking at the last event.

Secondly, there’s free beer and tacos which is doubly good because there’s no charge to get in.

The speakers who come are also awesome and always connect with the crowd.

This time, I’m pretty stoked that LACBC’s ED and my boss Tamika Butler will be up there presenting.

Even though there are not too many people that have heard her speak more than me, her ability to address an audience makes every talk feel new and fresh.

The brain trust from Pure Cycles will also be up there talking about their new landmark product, the Volta.

You’ll get a chance to check out one of these Voltas.

Electric bikes have a very strong future and their entry into this market is smartly conceived to be both efficient and versatile.

There will also be more speakers, but you get the point.

If you like bikes, why would you not be here? Is the electrical socket calling?

You can still RSVP for a space here and I will see you there.
