Great Streets Lankershim Pop Up & Ride Dec. 3rd

Lankershim Blvd. is one of the streets with the greatest potential in the valley, but has had an up and down history making progress.

It has been slated for bike lanes in a few iterations of the city’s bike and mobility plans, but nothing has come of it yet.

LACBC has been working really hard over the years with its Ride Lankershim campaign, especially with cycling supporter Greg Laemmle opening a theater right in the heart of NoHo, but we haven’t gotten more than a bite other than one of the city’s few bike corrals.

Well, the future of change may have finally arrived, but we still have work to do.

Lankershim has been CD2’s entry for the Mayor’s Greet Streets initiative and cyclists need to show that cycling needs to be a priority when they update the street next summer.

First, it’s important to show for the Pop Up event on Saturday, December 3rd (preferably on two wheels) to show your support that this street needs bike infrastructure.

You can do your part that day and have fun is to take part in the six mile Pop Up ride that will culminate riding through the pop-up bike lanes.

If you can’t make it out (and even if you do), please leave your input here: http://lagreatstreets.org/lankershim/

This is a great chance to revitalize Lankershim not only in the NoHo Arts District, but all the way up to Victory Blvd.
