Great Valley Bicycle Roundup visits LA Bike Park & Encino Velodrome Saturday

I’ve alluded to this ride before, but interest has been high and we’ve been adding to the ride.

To start, the Great Valley Bicycle Roundup will meet at the Winnetka / Pierce(I might have said Valley) College Orange BikeParkLine stop this Saturday at 9:30am and roll at 10:00am where it’ll head eastbound on the bike bath.

A number of families just wanted to do the Lake Balboa Park section, so if you want to do the four mile loop, meet at the corner of White Oak and Oxnard at 10:20am.

The ride will stop by the future site of LA’s first bike dirt park where co-founder, Taylor Calmus, will give the group a rundown of things to come.

Nearby on the other side of the river, the ride will stop off at the Encino Velodrome where they’ll learn about the track’s history and a rundown of what it takes to race there.

The group will return down the bike path where it navigate the LA River Bike Path before stopping off at the new REI at the Westfield Topanga.

From there it’s a short ride back to the start, about 15 miles in all. If you’re interested in the ride, sign up on the LACBC site to find out more details.
