Weekly Roundup: Tour of California & Bike Week is a Hit

This week’s roundup will be picture heavy, because a lot went on. You could say today’s column is worth a million words! Onto it:

The Tour of California didn’t just live up to expectations, but it mamboozled them. In other words, what happened was incoherent and I’m still trying to process what happened!

Here’s my photo gallery from Stage 8’s action:

TOC_DTLA

Downtown LA was a beautiful setting for Stage 8’s start

TOC_Sagan

Peter Sagan looked calm and comfortable early.

TOC_Ciclavia

Heading to the Rose Bowl was like a CicLAvia!

TOC_FinishLine

There was a lot of excitement around the finish line.

The most dangerous job. Finish Line Photographer

Cavendish wins the stage, but Sagan comes home in the Yellow Jersey

TOC_TeamSky

Funny to see Team Sky just walk among the crowd to get to the podium.

TOC_SaganYellow

Sagan celebrates his Yellow Jersey.

Boswell

One of America’s greatest up and coming cyclists. And Ian Boswell too.

Okay. Let’s get past my amateur photography and look at some other favorites from the week’s action at the Tour of California:

Toms Skujins was the star of the first part of the Tour of California, but not because of Sagan’s antics.

Apparently, Stage 6’s time trial in Big Bear went down after all!

Alaphillipe & Sagan put up an epic battle up Mt. Baldy

It takes a lot of work to be so silly :p #tourofcalifornia

Words. Cannot. Describe

I don’t think Phil Gaimon will miss his biggest fan on Mt. Baldy. As if the Tour of California isn’t enough, Bike Week took center stage across Los Angeles:

A number headed out for Bike to Lunch over at Grand Central Market

Bike to Work Day is also Bike from Work Day   PitStop Some lovely people came out to the many Pit Stops across the county

The week ended with a big celebration at Union Station. Remember, every week is really bike week.
