Cyclists Getting Buzzed on Purpose?

Not that I post too many links, but this one went viral(at least in the cycling community) about these stationary riders getting buzzed by a series of buses.

My first thought was that this was training for the bus drivers to see how close they can get to cyclists, without hitting them. Sadly, that seems plausible in today’s world.

Instead, it’s the opposite. The people on the bikes are actually bus drivers themselves getting a taste of what it feels like to get buzzed by one of their own.

In practice, this might be a great idea so that bus drivers will give a little more respect next time they see someone on the road with two wheels.

At the same time, I can’t imagine walking out the door and telling my wife, “I’m on my way to work. Some buses are going to come dangerously close to hitting me while I remain on a stationary bike. Don’t worry, it’ll be my supervisor driving. Did you pack a sandwich?”

I don’t think there’s a union in this country that would let this fly.

Maybe Wisconsin.
