Looking at the Fun from the Tour of California

What would a cycling race be without its fans? Every year, thousands of people come by to line the streets to watch their favorite stars, even if it’s only for a few seconds.

When the Tour of California comes by, the fans come prepared ready to grab the pros attention. This was another grueling week of cycling, but everyone always chips in to have fun:

Even on Stage 1, Adam Blythe was up to some antics.

Superhero costume sales so up this time of year.

Probably not Captain Jack Sparrow, but this guy still gets a pass.

Remember, getting all these people in those bear costumes takes planning!

Should I be ashamed to say I know this guy?

Even though Adam Blythe stole one of these cookies, I imagine Phil’s Fondo will still go on.

You’d think @alafpolak would be tired after a stage like this right?! #not #tricks #WayToRide #amgentoc #california

Hats off to Ventura for putting this together. Hopefully, this trend of mugging for the helicopter camera keeps up.

Pliny the Elder should be enough to get an autograph.

Of course, what’s a Tour of California without a little Champagne celebration.

Thanks to all the fans and pros that turned out to make the 11th ATOC another special week in cycling.
