It took just a few days of Canadian weather to make me realize how fortunate we have it here in the southland.
The first event I’ll mention is the Moonlight Century Ride this Saturday night led by Wayne “Ridetime” Howard. Yes, you will be doing a hundred miles and while it’s not a race, expect to be in great riding shape to keep up with the group.
Do not forget to bring the proper amount of water, food and most importantly LIGHTS to ride deep into the night.
The group will meet at Union Station at 6pm. Yes, you’ll be missing the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, but I predict you’ll be glad you missed it(I think one guy will wallop the other).
For more details, RSVP on the event page.

Earlier in the day, the highly active Walk Bike Glendale group will be joining the area’s Utility Box Mural Program to add a little artistic flair to the community.
The group is looking for volunteers to join in as they meet up in the Crescenta Highlands area of Glendale.
If you don’t know much about this project, the Glendale News-Press did a good overview of some of the works in the area.
Meetup starts at 8am and of course, there’s a facebook page.

National Bike Month is ready to kick off and what better way to celebrate than by having a big party!
Amoeba Music is hosting Bike Day in their Ivar parking lot with tons of great prizes to be raffled off with proceeds going to benefit the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition.
To top it off, the event will be Emcee’d by cycling luminary Mike Bowers, so you know this will be big.
The festivities start at noon and will run until four. Mr. CiclaValley may be there even without a bike because it’s so close to the Metro Red Line.
For more information, check out their facebook page.
