The holidays are here or as I call it, “Consumeristmas!”
While for some, Thanksgiving is a four holiday to bond with your family, for retailers it’s the time to get the early jump on moving goods.
This time of year cyclists can enjoy a number of discounts not just because ’tis the season, but a lot of places are trying to clear out their 2016 goods because they’re assuming we’ll make it through 2017 as well.
Before I get into the Keynesian economics of this whole scurry, let me first recognize REI for their #optoutside campaign to actually spend Black Friday outdoors instead of throwing elbows for those remaining flat screens.
Along these lines, I want to discourage online shopping, at least from goods that you’d buy from local shops.
You might spend a little more, but consider this paying it forward for all the times you’re thankful to have a shop nearby to fix your bike.
Remember that it’s also Small Business Saturday which is a great opportunity to show some local support.
Pure Cycles new Bonette
Pure Cycles is also having a Saturday sale at their facility in Burbank.
They are just getting into road bike sales as well, so if you want to try one out, stop by.
I mentioned Road Runner Bags in Downtown LA yesterday, but I’m going back because Secret Santa is still a thing.
Pedalers West has already started their Black Friday sale with 10% – 75% off.
You can’t have this Road Runner Bag. It’s mine!
H & S Bikes in Burbank & Granada Hills has some select items on sale.
Santa Monica Mountains Cyclery is having a flat 20% off everything sale now through Sunday.
I’m sure other shops are offering discounts for Black Friday sales as well, so why don’t you just stop by?
If there’s any cyber shopping for CiclaValley, it’ll likely be in the apparel category as the majority of product you’ll find online.
I tend too search for California based products and there’s a decent selection to choose from.
Or not is having a 20% off everything sale with the coupon code WTFORNOT which doesn’t do me a lot of good because I’m above my quota with them. Or not.
Out of Grover Beach, Voler has probably widest selection from any manufacturer in this state and is offering 20% off as well with the code SAVEWTF, so odds are you’ll find something
Catella also is offering 20% off, including all their locally themed jerseys, using the code WTFSEAMS.
Volar Active’s new Mulholland Socks
Not to be confused with Voler, but Volar Active (who I’ve covered extensively) has 30% off their entire line using the WTFBLACKFRIDAY code.
There are probably more deals to be had, but if you need a more extensive guide of holiday sales, go to WTFKits.com.
If you’re like me, you’re already whole and don’t need to buy anything else.
…but you can get a lot more wholer.
