Get Dirty in Calabasas: Gravel Grinder at Pedaler’s Fork

One of the valley’s untapped resources are the many off road trails we have to offer. If you have the knobby tires and cyclocross01haven’t gotten your bike dirty, then this weekend’s a good place to start.

Mr. CiclaValley himself loves taking his cyclocross bike off road and now that I learned it’s simple to clean, heading for the hills is something I look forward too.

This Sunday, you can get an early start taking out your cyclocross or mountain bike to ride through the many hills of Calabasas during this year’s Gravel Grinder ride

. If you’re new to the sport, it’ll be a fully supported ride.

You can choose to do ride a 60k option or if you’re just starting there is a 30k choice as well. You can check out the ride profile here.cyclocross02

Another strong point to the ride is that it’s staged out of Pedaler’s Fork. It’s an ideal place to grab some post ride fare, contains a robust beer list and you can get your bike fixed as well.

Of course, if you didn’t already know all of this, you have some catching up to do.

The ride leaves at 8AM, but there’s limited parking so get there early. Also, you’ll have your bike, so it shouldn’t be that big of deal.

For more information, check out the SoCalCross page and register here. If you sign up by Saturday at noon, it’s $35 for adults, $15 for juniors. Tack on an extra $5 for day of.
