The Mount Hollywood saga continues on just like those old Ernest goes movies. It’s annoying, but just persevere. We’ll get through it!
Tomorrow night at Chevy Chase Park in Atwater Village, constituents will get an update on the Griffith Park Circulation & Traffic Enhancement Plan from the Department of Recreation and Parks AND Councilmember David Ryu himself(which I recently learned is pronounced like Kanga’s son, not the Street Fighter character).
If you remember back last month, there was a period open to public comment about adding shuttles to Mount Hollywood Drive, where many people hike and cycle, and hopefully you chimed in. Now, we’ll finally get a chance to see the fruits of all our hard work.
Or not. There’s always that possibility and why you should show up.
The meeting starts at 7:00pm and parking isn’t that great, which is another reason why we love bikes. If you want more info, check out Don Ward’s Facebook Page on the event.
If you haven’t commented, please still leave your remarks before tomorrow night’s meeting. Here’s a template:
SUBJECT: Griffith Park Parking & Traffic Plan
As a cyclist and hiker who regularly hikes and rides Mt. Hollywood I urge you all to not open the Mt Hollywood gates to city shuttle traffic. It will create a hazard for equestrians, hikers and cyclists on the Mt. Hollywood Drive, will disturb the serenity of one of the most popular trails and areas of Griffith Park, harm the environment and needlessly congest a wild area.
Thank you,
