The year’s pretty much done and race season is just around the corner. What’s the best way to get ready for it? Have a face-slapping series of rides that should whip you into shape or display how far down the shame ladder you stand.
Starting Thursday, Neil Shirley is holding his 4 Days to Fitness out in the Santa Clarita Valley. It’s four rides of around 70 miles with 5k-6k feet of climbing each day. Maybe it’s not the distance & elevation that’ll pain you, but the fact that there will be a lot of good riders out there ready to push your limits.
Yes, the Lake Hughes climb is on the agenda.
If you want to look hard and maintain some sort of sanity, there are also ride options each day that are about 25 miles less.
You can reward your level of sanity as Neil is handing out a special prize for those that complete a Strava challenge of riding all four days, which in my opinion should be a trip to the looney bin.
I should be out there for one or two rides, but remember, it’s going to be cold and windy. Why am I doing this?
