Mr. CiclaValley had an eventful week. Not only did he join LACBC at the start of it, I also had my boots in the ground over the weekend. So let’s commence.
Long Beach took center stage having their first major open streets event called Beach Streets. Of course, it was another success. It might not have been slightly less crowded as last week’s CicLAvia, but it was enough of a hit that the populous is already asking about another.
One thing you noticed was that Beach Streets had a higher percentage of walkers than a regular CicLAvia. Sorry. I should stop comparing.
I get it. What happened to the rest of my bike. Familiar shtick.
A lot of great entertainment along the course. One of the great highlights.
It seemed with a lower density of riders out there, that people didn’t maintain their lines or rode in the opposite direction more.
Did you have to ever guess if the East Side Riders were going to be there?
Sunday brought the 3rd Chatsworth Orange Line Tour(C. O. L. T.) to the west valley. It almost doubled in size from last year’s event bringing in over 500 cyclists! If there’s a bigger cycling event in the valley, let me know!
A small subsection of all the riders getting ready to go.
Thanks to Jesse Fuller for helping put on such a great event.
For those of you out there, I was helping marshal the Parthenia crossing.
Riders of all types out for the day.
